Arizona has some
of the best solar incentives, and one of the largest solar markets in the
nation. Here you will find details about the Arizona Public Service (APS)
Renewable Incentive Program.
What incentives are available for installing renewable systems for my
residence?
|
APS offers incentives for installing the following types of
renewable electrical systems:
*
Incentive amounts vary based on the
type of technology installed. |

To qualify for APS incentives, the equipment must be purchased
and installed within 180 days of APS's approval of the reservation
application.
Up-front Incentives cannot exceed 50 percent of the total system cost
(before any state and federal tax credits are applied).
* The
incentive amount for PV systems may be adjusted if the expected performance
of the system is lowered due to shading of the PV panels or installation of
the panels at a less than optimal direction or angle. Adjustments are
detailed in the
PV incentive adjustment
** The
customer contribution to the cost of the water heating system must be at
least 15 percent of the project cost before APS incentives and all available
Federal and State tax credits have been applied.
***Solar
space heating incentives are based on the first year estimated kWh savings
your system provides. Using equipment information provided by your
installer, the APS calculation procedure will convert the estimated BTUs
your system will produce during its first year of operation into kWh
savings. Those kWh savings are then multiplied by $0.75 per kWh to figure
your incentive payment. This procedure is typically completed for you by
your installer.
